- Oversee the academic, social, and emotional life of the Daycare students including oversight of curriculum, student records and scheduling
- Work to ensure a smooth and warm onboarding experience for families
- Supervise, direct and support the Daycare faculty and staff
- Work closely with the Head of Early Childhood Education for screening and hiring potential Daycare faculty and staff
- Schedule and carry out professional development of Daycare faculty and staff through meetings, workshops etc.
- Maintain a warm, nurturing environment for all students, families, faculty and staff involved with the Daycare
- Convey to parents and faculty the philosophy and goals of the Daycare as outlined in the Daycare Parent Handbook
- Engage and communicate with Daycare families on a regular basis
- Assist in developing and supervising Daycare budgets and the care and upkeep of the Daycare building, grounds, and equipment
- Oversee daily operations of the Daycare program, including budget, enrollment, maintaining licensure, curriculum, and teacher observations
- Ensure that the Daycare program meets all requirements necessary to maintain licensing from the State of Maryland
- Assist with staffing and facility needs including maintaining teacher and substitute schedules and filling in when needed
- Oversee all new employees with center orientation
- Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree required, Master's preferred
- Must be able to meet the State of Maryland, OCC and other licensing regulatory agencies' requirements
- Minimum of five years experience working in an Early Childhood setting
- Experience supervising others and building and maintaining a team of professionals
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with other leaders throughout the school community
- Deep understanding of developmentally appropriate practices and milestones for infants and toddlers
- Flexible, warm, caring, nurturing personality with an enthusiasm for working with infants, toddlers and their families
- Physically able to work with young children (bending, stooping, walking, lifting etc.)
