Packaging Engineer- Managers #TN127
Description
Outlines Environmentally Sustainable packaging principles in order to achieve the goal to reduce, reuse, recycle or reclaim packaging materials.
Oversees optimization of packaging performance with attention to customer requirements, operations integration and safety, part specifications, packaging materials, vendor relations, and other functional requirements.
Provide technical expertise for Value Package Introduction (VPI) and current product programs.Apply knowledge of engineering principles and practices across various areas and projects in the design, analysis and release of packaging and container systems through the product life cycle.
Supports Indirect Purchasing in packaging procurement initiatives.Gather and analyze financial data, fleet sizing, tracking, maintenance, logistics, customer and supplier data, and performance monitoring requirements to manage a Returnable Packaging program that delivers savings in material and transportation while reducing waste.
Oversee site-specific packaging requirements for industrial products using Industrial Packaging Design Principles to ensure product protection for all touch points of an end to end supply chain.
Use Data Analytics to discover, interpret and communicate qualitative and quantitative data that enable good business decisions. Utilize Packaging Material Knowledge to demonstrate benefits of various packaging mediums for a variety of applications.Evaluate performance of Packaging during testing to distinguish which method to apply, and interprets test reports and draws conclusions in order to ensure packaging performance meets transit and handling conditions though end to end supply chain.
Recognize Packaging Distribution Conditions and Dynamics to account for environmental conditions and hazards to ensure product protection.Demonstrate and apply knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment and flows of inbound parts to establish Operations Integration in Industrial Packaging.
SkillsExperience and Education:
Positions require a Master's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Packaging Engineering, or related field and 2 years of experience as a Packaging Engineer or related position.
Alternatively, the employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Packaging Engineering, or related field and 5 years of experience as a Packaging Engineer, or related position.
Experience to include:
Industrial Packaging Design; Environmentally Sustainable Packaging Principles; Returnable Packaging Management; Data Analytics; Packaging Material Knowledge; Packaging Testing; Packaging Distribution Conditions and Dynamics; Operations Integration in Industrial Packaging.
