    The Role

    Senior Claims Specialists at Willis Towers Watson drive proactive adoption of risk mitigation strategies and positive outcomes for clients who experience losses. They develop and maintain relationships with clients and prospects providing consultative advice to drive optimal resolution strategies that mitigate risk for our clients. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    Leadership

    • Help develop and execute the strategies of the practice.
    • Promote and foster Willis Towers Watson culture.
    • Manage the appropriate level of resources for your clients.
    • Be a visible sign of professionalism and direction for the practice.
    • Maintain local relationships with all major business partners.
    • Collaborate and share ideas and strategies that strengthen the practice.
    • Foster and support a team approach with all aspects of the job.
    Technical
    • Key member of account service teams managing a book of designated construction clients as lead consultant including complex consulting and strategy
    • Ensure quality and consistency in executing best practice claim strategies in working with carriers, TPAs, and clients.
    • Engage our global network of professionals and resources as needed.
    • Advocate for timely, optimal resolution of claims, including escalation/negotiation with claim service providers on disputed claims.
    • Review and analyze adverse coverage positions issued by insurance markets and develop appropriate rebuttal arguments.
    • Appropriate utilization of all systems as required.
    • Work with others as necessary to continually improve quality and innovation.
    • Monitor and evaluate the performance of claim service providers for your clients.
    • Help educate our clients, prospects, and other business partners to set us apart from our competitors with strong technical industry expertise.
    • Conduct/Coordinate periodic claim file reviews with emphasis on quality standards, reserve accuracy and disposition strategy.
    • Provide consultative services/training to clients, including best practices for claim management, litigation management and contractual risk allocation.
    • Develop and negotiate claim service instructions.
    • Advisory/Consult on significant court decisions, legislative changes and other developments impacting construction risk within designated jurisdiction(s).
    • Support broking colleagues in negotiation of terms/conditions, including coverage endorsement review/development.
    Growth and Retention
    • Support new business with sales presentations and RFP responses - both written and oral
    • Help support strategies to drive new business opportunities and promote client retention.
    • Participate in strategic client meetings and build positive long-term client relationships.
    • Manage the quality and appropriateness of client service agreements.
    • Ensure practice strategy alignment with WTW business plans.
    • Regularly meet with WTW leaders to ensure delivery alignment.
    • Build and maintain strategic relationships with key clients, prospects, and colleagues.
    • Ensure appropriate internal and client communications; help drive positive image for the organization.
    • Build and maintain relationships with local, regional, and national level contacts at insurance markets, TPAs, legal resources, consultants, and other claim-related vendors.
    • Participate in client renewal strategy meetings.
    The Requirements
    • Secondary education degree preferred in business, insurance and/or law. Additional insurance certifications evidencing continuing education a plus (CPCU; AIC; ARM; CRIS, etc.)
    • 5 years+ experience in claims related position with some prior experience working at an insurance carrier or third-party administrator preferred; prior broker and/or insurance consulting experience a plus.
    • Must have strong technical claims expertise with heavy concentration in liability; multi-line experience a plus; ability to articulate technical information both orally and in writing.
    • Must be well versed in handling insurance construction exposures, including jurisdictional variables impacting legal liability, insurance coverage and contracts.
    • Technical knowledge of contractual risk allocation unique to construction risk
    • knowledgeable in NY Labor Law construction insurance risks, familiar with large wrap programs
    • Knowledge of laws, legal codes, procedures, and processes involving insurance

    Base salary range and benefits information for this position are being included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, qualifications/experience, performance in the role and potential for revenue generation (Producer roles only).

    Compensation
    The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $150,000 - $175,000 USD. This role is also eligible for an annual short-term incentive bonus.
