Job summary
Apply, remove, and repair insulation on equipment.
- Determine the amounts and selects required insulation material based on location surface shape equipment use.
- Moves materials and equipment to work locations sets up work site covers seal or finish insulated surfaces access holes with plastic covers canvas strips sealants tape cement asphalt mastic fit insulation around obstructions shape insulating materials protective coverings as required install sheet metal around insulated pipes protect the insulation from weather conditions physical damage measure cut insulation covering surfaces prepare surfaces for insulation application follows all hazardous waste handling guidelines estimating sizes distances quantities determining time costs resources materials needed perform work activity inspect subordinate work compliance contract plans specifications point out deficiencies explain take corrective action needed may require high school diploma equivalent previous years experience field related area possess working knowledge skills abilities position ability understand follow transmit written oral instructions communicate effectively management supervision proficient safe efficient use electrical hand tools power tools layout tools measurement tools able meet physical requirements have all required tools expected climb heights confined spaces exceed ft able work outdoors weather conditions overtime nights weekends workload observe comply safety project rules performs other duties required equal opportunity employer disability protected veteran status
