    JOBPURPOSE:

    Operates radiologic equipment to make clinicaldiagnostic radiographs and performs routine diagnostic proceduresaccording to established standards and practices. Provide patientservices using imaging modalities. Provides patient care to all agegroups to include neonatal, pediatrics, adult, and geriatrics.
    Demonstrates ability to perform advance diagnostic imaging(Fluoroscopy and Lumbar punctures). Provides more complex technicalcare necessary to meet identified patientneeds.

    Qualifications:


    MINIMUMEDUCATION REQUIRED:

    Graduate of an AMAapproved Radiologic Technologyprogram.


    MINIMUM EXPERIENCEREQUIRED:

    Two (2) years ofexperience.


    MINIMUMLICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BYLAW:

    Registered by the American Registry ofRadiologic Technologists(R).

    KEYRESPONSIBILITIES:


    • Demonstratescompetence and proficiency in performing all radiologicalprocedures on patients of all age groups. Positions patient,selects the correct protocol, and utilizes all requiredequipment.
    • Maintains competencies for all relatedcomponents.
    • Accurately follows all established imagingprotocols for exam being performed.
    • Provides qualityage specific care in accordance with prescribed standards andpractices.
    • Adhere to the Radiation Safety Policies andthe principles of a viable dose reduction program.
    • Provides patient education and communications in accordance withprescribed standards.
    • Maintain proficiency to performadvance diagnostic procedures.
    • Assist with performingand planning multiple diagnostic procedures in appropriate timesequences.
    • Acts as a mentor for students and juniortechnologists.
    • Ensures department meets all regulatoryrequirements.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS,ABILITIES:

    Must be able to operate manytypes of x-ray equipment, including fluoroscopy rooms, radiographyrooms, portable x-ray units, mobile c-arms, cysto equipment andother x-ray producing equipment.

    Must be able to provideother technologists instruction on the same equipment.
    Must be able to produce quality radiographic exams.
    Mustdeliver SAFE care in accordance with the Alwaysafeprogram.
    Must use AIDET with every encounter and beproficient with service recovery.
