    Description

    Job Overview: The Substance Use Treatment Specialist will be responsible for assisting to ensure a safe, drug free environment. To provide substance use assessment, education, counseling services, and case management for reStart clients. Specialist will demonstrate professionalism while interfacing with clients, colleagues, funders and community partners.This position will come into contact with a large amount of confidential and sensitive information and therefore, must keep all information confidential at all times both with other reStart employees and individuals outside of reStart. The individual hired will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement as part of his/her employment with reStart.

    Responsibilities/Duties:
    • Conduct substance abuse intake screenings/assessments, evaluate results and mutually develop plans for recovery
    • Develop and distribute educational substance abuse materials and conduct educational groups.
    • Provide individual and group counseling services.
    • Provide strengths based/trauma informed direct client services.
    • Provide and document in databases a minimum of 17 direct service hours per week. Services to include, but not limited to, individual counseling, group counseling, group education, case management, and crisis intervention.
    • Complete individual drug screens for clients, as needed.
    • Develop partnerships with other treatment providers in an effort to provide continuity of care for clients.
    • Conduct goal planning sessions regularly.
    • Enter data into databases and/or tracking within 48 hours.
    • Participate in case presentation meetings, staff meetings, and in-service training sessions.
    • Attend COMBAT and licensure related community meetings/events.
    • Work as part of a professional team.
    • Assisting with program design.
    • Maintain knowledge of grants and funding source requirements for programs.
    • Prepare or assist with statistical and outcome reports for funding sources, the board of directors, etc. as required.
    • Utilize trauma responsive techniques to deescalate crisis or potential crisis situations
    • Other duties as assigned.
    Qualifications

    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's Degree in social work, psychology, counselor or related degree. (Master's Degree Preferred).
    • Current licensure or ability to apply for licensure, with the Missouri Substance Abuse Credentialing Board.
    • 2 years of relevant experience with case management, homelessness, domestic violence, substance abuse, and trauma informed care. Experience working in mental health and or substance abuse field preferred.
    • Excellent interpersonal communications skills
    • Knowledge of community resources
    • Computer skills - Microsoft Office, database entry
    • Must have a valid driver's license
    • Must pass a criminal record check and pre-employment drug screening
    • Ability to provide trauma informed responsive services
    • Must be alcohol and drug free for a minimum of three years.
