    About the Job:

    We are looking for a skilled Staff Research Scientist and Manager to join the team at the Gladstone-UCSF Institute of Genomic Immunology. As a part of our institute, you will have the opportunity to lead and manage a preclinical cell therapy research team. Our focus is on leveraging CRISPR-Cas9 manipulation in primary human T cells for therapeutic purposes, specifically in the treatment of conditions such as cancer, HIV, primary immune deficiencies, and autoimmune diseases. If you are passionate about genetic mechanisms and therapeutic engineering, this could be the perfect role for you.

    The Gladstone-UCSF Institute of Genomic Immunology is at the forefront of biomedical research, combining various cutting-edge technologies in genomics, CRISPR genome engineering, and synthetic biology to advance the field of immunotherapy. By deepening our understanding of DNA sequences and their impact on the human immune system, we aim to develop innovative immunotherapies for a wide range of diseases.

    Key Responsibilities include:

    • Designing and cloning gene circuits
    • Engineering T cells using gene editing technologies
    • Characterizing engineered T cells in vitro and in vivo
    • Supervising mouse colonies for in vivo assays
    • Managing research projects and training technicians
    • Centralizing and standardizing data

    Required Qualifications:

    • PhD + 3 years postdoctoral research experience
    • Expertise in T cell engineering and gene editing
    • Experience with in vivo mouse models
    • Strong planning and organizational skills
    • Ability to build a positive work environment

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Industry experience
    • PhD + 5 years postdoctoral research experience
    • Expertise in gene targeting
    • Experience with protocol optimization and SOP development

      • Hiring Range:

      $100K-$140K

    • Title and salary will be based on qualifications and experience.
