    About the Role

    The Director, of Business Operations & Project Management will set and drive key business initiatives across the division.

    As a project manager and strategic adviser to the Division President, you will help create operational excellence and support transformative initiatives to enable the Lifestyle business to scale and grow.

    You are a self-starter and collaborative problem solver with strong project management skills, who is not afraid to lead change management initiatives and approach process improvements with quick iterations and knows how to measure what matters.

    Your Team

    This position will be reporting to the President of the Lifestyle Division.

    The role does not have any direct reports but will be leading ad hoc project teams consisting of global and cross-functional members.

    What You Will Do

    Project Management
    Develops project overviews and monitors project schedules within the defined Program Management system. Keeps management advised on project progress, potential issues, obstacles, conflicts, or challenges.

    Identifies barriers to project success, and negotiates through barriers with major stakeholders within the Division / across SBUs to keep progress on track.

    Gathers lessons learned with project teams to review project success and areas requiring improvement for future projects and services.

    Promote and execute effective change management practices for successful project deliverables acceptance including communication plans, sponsor engagement, resistance mitigation and guidelines for management.

    Support and in some cases lead moderate to large horizontal priorities and special projects across the team; Ensure the right metrics are in place to track and manage priorities, outcomes, risks, budgets, etc.

    Business Operations

    Monitor division performance, and organize effective & transparent reporting to Corporate and Samsung such as synergies and responses to Samsung inquiries regarding the Division.

    Proactively advise SBU leaders and business managers on applicable risk standards and controls, in alignment with HARMS Enterprise Risk Management Framework.

    Define and track key performance metrics to measure the success of all key initiatives in the Division in alignment with over-all HARMAN objectives.

    Closely partner with leadership across the Division, as well as the broader HARMAN team to drive strategic initiatives.

    Streamline key processes (Budgeting, investment requests, etc) and work with SBU leaders for consistency in the execution of company deliverables, such as annual planning cycles, and contributions for monthly and quarterly business reviews.

    Statistical analysis and support for the Division - monitor expenditure against agreed budgets, identify variances and implement corrective action if necessary.

    Drive weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual planning processes for the Division.

    Facilitate operating rhythm / processes (weekly leadership meetings, All Hands, project reviews, team offsites), to ensure organizational effectiveness, including preparing the agenda, facilitating the discussions, documenting notes / action items, and closing out follow-ups.

    Collect and quickly summarize monthly Sub Business Unit, Business Unit, regional reporting and create a summarized version for leadership consumption.

    What You Need
    Bachelor's degree in business (or related field)
    Creative problem solving, strong execution skills with the ability to see the big picture and implement the small details.
    Experience with managing enterprise-level projects involving multiple stakeholders.
    Organization skills with the ability to draw insights from information and help drive process improvements as needed.
    Ability to clearly articulate business issues and recommend / synthesize solutions.
    Self-starter, motivated by achieving measurable goals within the team setting ensuring team success.

    Demonstrated experience in building the processes, metrics, controls, and governance necessary to build a balanced portfolio of well-managed projects and programs that deliver business value.

    Excellent project management skills, including the ability to execute and prioritize a number of tasks simultaneously, and experience managing cross-functional teams.

    Knowledge of Google Sheets/Excel, Airtable, Jira, Salesforce CRM, Tableau

    What is Nice to Have
    Master's degree in business or equivalent.
    Global experience and ability to work in a matrixed organization.

    What Makes You Eligible
    Be willing to travel up to 30%, domestic and international travel.
    This role is eligible to work remotely full-time with occasional trips to any HARMAN USA office (this could be on 24-hour notice)
    Successfully complete a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment

    What We Offer
    At Harman, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is $150,000 - $220,000.

    Pay is based on a wide range of factors, including, without limitation, skill set, experience, training, location, and business need.

    While the above range is a reasonable estimate of the wage range for this position, please note the disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographical differential associated with the location where the position may be filled.
