- Ensure ingredients and final products are fresh
- Follow recipes, including measuring, weighing, and mixing ingredients
- Bake, grill, steam and boil meats, vegetables, fish, poultry, and other foods
- Occasionally serve food
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, including handling utensils, equipment, and dishes
- Handle and store ingredients and food
- Maintain food safety and sanitation standards
- Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils
- Set up workstations with required ingredients and equipment
- Check the quality and freshness of ingredients
- Monitor station inventory levels
- Accommodate children's special food needs
- Operate kitchen equipment such as oven, dishwasher
- Assist in providing a safe and healthy learning environment for children.
- Follows all state and federal regulations regarding fire, health, and safety standards, to include hand washing, laundry, and housekeeping practices.
- Assist with supervision of children's activities and enters children's free play, outdoor activities, fieldtrips, songs, games, and other activities as assigned.
- Attend staff meeting and participate in training sessions.
- Maintain agency confidentiality regarding children, families and staff information.
- Give bathroom and lunch breaks to classroom staff as needed.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must have High School graduation or equivalent
- Negative results of TB Skin Test within the last 12 months.
- Current Mumps, Measles and Rubella immunity.
- Covid-19 Vaccine
- HIV/Aids Bloodborne Pathogen Training within the last 12 months.
- Current Basic First Aid/CPR for Infant/Child/Adult Certification.
- Current Washington State Food Worker Card.
- Completed (DCYF) Department of Children, Youth and Family approved Child Care Basics training OR ECED 107 Health, Safety & Nutrition class.
- Experience working with individuals from diverse academic, socioeconomic, age, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.
- English/Spanish or English/Ukrainian/Russian proficiency

The Cook/Childcare Attendant will work closely with the Childcare Manager in conducting daily duties such as preparing and serving meals, cleaning their workspace throughout the day to follow health and safety guidelines.
This position is responsible for delivering food that is not only delicious and cooked to the specifications of the USDA but that is safe and fresh as well.
Work schedule will be determined by the needs of the Learning Center Childcare. Hours per week are 16.To work at BBCC you will be participating in a movement.

Must be able to lift and maneuver children who may weigh up to 50 pounds or more.
Lifting requires the ability to lift boxes, cans, bags, or equipment in addition to lifting children four-weeks through 5 years of age on an ongoing basis.
Diaper changing and assisting in toilet training is required. Physical dexterity to work with small children, i.e. stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, grasping, standing, lifting, climbing, walking, running quickly. Work will be performed in both inside and outside environments.This position is open until filled.
