    Job Description

    American Traveler is seeking an experienced
    RN for a Labor & Delivery/Postpartum position requiring LDRP skills, a current NC or compact
    RN license, and at least two years of LDRP experience.

    Responsibilities
    Position is based in a hospital labor & delivery/postpartum unit with 8 bedsPatient population includes labor, delivery, recovery, postpartum, GYN surgical, and newborn careNight shift schedule from 7pm to 7am with a 36-hour work weekWeekend rotation required every other weekendNo on-call requiredTravelers are scheduled to work 75% of holidaysPatient ratios adhere to AWHONN guidelinesFloating required to multiple facilities within Region 2 according to department needs and within scope of practiceUses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell med dispensing, Philips monitors, GE Corometrics fetal monitors, and GE Panda WarmersResponsibilities include comprehensive labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care with some GYN surgical patientsSupported by a multidisciplinary team including CNAs, charge nurses, case managers, RTs, OB and pediatric physicians, and lactation consultantsRegional floating is required; travelers must agree to float per departmental needsTwo-day departmental orientation provided in addition to hospital orientationNavy blue scrubs are required to and from work; hospital-issued scrubs to be worn while on dutyFree parking is available for staff

    Requirements
    Active NC or compact
    RN license requiredMinimum two years of recent LDRP
    RN experienceCurrent BLS, ACLS, EFM, and NRP certifications requiredMust have experience in all aspects of LDRP care, circulating C-sections, newborn care (including heel sticks, 24-hour testing, NAS scoring), and lactation supportExperience in a hospital LDRP setting requiredMust reside at least 50 miles from the home unitPrevious travel experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
