    Position Summary

    KIPP Public Schools Northern California seeks a Regional Clinical Supervisor to support Mental Health Clinicians across the KIPP NorCal region. Our innovative approach involves coaching and collaborating with education partners to serve all students through a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS). The Supervisor plays a key role in realizing the vision for Mental Health programming, providing clinical supervision, supporting service execution, ensuring compliance, and facilitating high-quality interventions in schools. Reporting to the Associate Director of Mental Health, the Regional Clinical Supervisor is a strategic leader that is crucial to our mission and vision.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Required Educational Level
    • Required: Possesses and maintains a current valid California license as dictated by the CA Board of Behavioral and Social Sciences or relevant state licensing board as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Psychologist with a minimum of 2 years of successful licensure and in good standing, and completion of supervisory courses to supervise registered ASWs/AMFTs/APCCs.
    • Required: Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, Professional Clinical Counseling, or a related field.
    Experience
    • 5+ years experience as School Mental Health Provider, School Social Worker or similar position (highly preferred).
    • Minimum of 1 year (2+ preferred) of supervision or clinical consultation experience.
    • At least one year (2+ preferred) of experience overseeing quality assurance and compliance related to mental health service provision.
    Knowledge/skills
    • Strong commitment to the philosophy, goals, and mission of KIPP Public Schools Northern CA and to providing anti-racist, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and client centered mental health treatment and prevention services for the school community.
    • Expertise in supervising, training, managing and/or evaluating staff.
    • Familiarity with socio-emotional learning competencies, trauma informed education practices, multi-tiered systems of supports (MTSS), and restorative practices strongly preferred.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively, function independently, and interact professionally with a diverse, multicultural, and interdisciplinary staff of all levels.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Familiarity with special education, IEP team participation and educationally related mental health services and the delivery of such services.
    • Ability to learn and utilize technology to provide clinical supervision & training remotely (i.e. Zoom, G-Suite, Theranest).
    • Familiarity with local community resources/services (which may include health, mental health, substance abuse, vocational, housing, etc).
    • Knowledge of Medi-Cal, Quality Assurance and Federal, State and County compliance standards.
    • Ability to travel within the Bay Area and to Stockton with own transportation (mileage reimbursed).
    Essential Functions:

    Clinical Supervision
    • Provide clinical supervision and guidance for a team of mental health clinicians to support schools in ensuring exceptional outcomes for students with unique learning, social-emotional, and mental health needs.
    • Design and lead weekly individual and group supervision for mental health clinicians.
    • Support the consistent implementation of evidence-based behavioral and social-emotional interventions amongst mental health clinicians.
    • Provide consultation to school teams including Mental Health Clinicians, School Psychologists and School Leadership regarding mental health services, programs, and guidelines.
    • Evaluate and provide responsive coaching to develop associate mental health clinicians' clinical skills and partner with school administrators related to performance management and support of mental health clinicians on their school campus.
    • Serve as a regional leader in school crisis consultation and response.
    Quality Assurance & Compliance
    • Oversee quality assurance as it relates to clinical documentation & record-keeping of associates and interns supervised; Identifies quality assurance and risk management issues and brings them to the attention of the appropriate managers.
    • Ensure compliance with related federal, state and local regulations, as well as departmental and county policies and procedures.
    • Review and provide oversight of psychosocial assessments and treatment plans as Ordering, Referring, and Prescribing (ORP) Practitioner for Medi-Cal billing purposes.
    • Responsible for mental health records review and quality assurance/utilization review, audit preparation, and serves as a resource for clinical staff around charting, billing, and eligibility.
    Regional Mental Health Support & Program Development
    • Develop and implement training and professional development for Mental Health Clinicians
    • Collaborate with AD of Mental Health and Regional Clinical Supervisors to create, revise, and progress monitor tools & resources to support & develop site-based clinicians.
    • Collaborate with the AD of Mental Health, Regional School Culture Team, and other Regional Support Office teams as needed to support projects related to implementing a high quality, integrated mental health model across school campuses.
    Additional Functions:

    School Team, Parents and Community
    • Participate in weekly or bi-weekly meetings with direct supervisor or related support staff.
    • Provide consultation with parents, teachers, and other appropriate staff regarding the student's program and any adaptations/materials needed to facilitate improved performance in the classroom or at home.
    • Maintain relationships and effectively communicate with school leaders, teachers, and parents in all facets of the position. Attend and participate in a variety of meetings, conferences and workshops related to the role.
    Professional Practice
    • Adhere to the ethical standards and codes of the profession and to the established rules, regulations, and laws governing school mental health special education programs.
    • Develop and maintain appropriate administrative and treatment records related to client care in accordance to standards and policies specified by KIPP Public Schools Northern CA.
    • Practice professional renewal through a variety of means such as attending conferences, workshops, and seminars and through participation in professional growth opportunities provided by KIPP Northern California Public Schools.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    Physical, Mental and Environmental Demands

    Physical: Ability to navigate office and school campuses, and hold meetings in different spaces. Traditionally, much of the day involves sitting. Ability to access and utilize technology. Occasional lifting/carrying of equipment 1-20 lbs. Traveling to different locations throughout the Bay Area and Stockton.

    Mental: Stress of deadlines and normal work standards, ability to analyze problems and generate alternatives, work with interruptions, concentrate for long periods of time, read, calculate, perform routine math problems, memorize and recall objects and people.

    Environmental: Office environment subject to constant interruptions and distractions. Frequent classroom/school environment and travel.

    Classification

    This is a full-time, exempt position based on a full year calendar cycle and time off, located in our downtown Oakland Regional Support Office with occasional travel to school sites.

    The KIPP Regional Support Office is currently operating in a hybrid fashion. Most positions can expect to work in person 2-3 days per week and remotely the remaining days, subject to change based on the needs of the role.

    KIPP Northern California is dedicated to you and your family's well-being We offer a competitive salary as well as a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and transportation benefits.

    We benchmark annually against school districts and charter schools in the regions where we operate, to offer competitive salaries. The salary range for this position is $97,125 - $107,141.
