Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista/cook to join our dynamic café team. The ideal candidate will deliver exceptional customer service, prepare high-quality coffee and food items, and maintain a clean and welcoming environment. This role offers an opportunity to develop skills in food service, retail operations, and customer engagement within a vibrant café setting.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and food items according to company standards.
- Operate POS systems such as Square for accurate order processing and cash handling.
- Engage with customers in a friendly, professional manner to enhance their experience.
- Manage orders efficiently through effective time management and multitasking skills.
- Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards in all food preparation and serving areas.
- Restock supplies, ingredients, and merchandise as needed to ensure smooth operations.
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and retail math calculations.
- Follow food safety protocols during food handling, preparation, and serving.
- Assist with cleaning duties, including equipment sanitation and maintaining a tidy workspace.
Experience
- Previous Barista experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Previous Kitchen experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Familiarity with coffee industry standards, food service, and food handling practices is advantageous.
- Experience with POS systems, particularly Square, is a plus.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse customers.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for cash handling, sales transactions, and retail math tasks.
- Ability to motivate the team and take the initiative to achieve goals
