    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

    • Act as a valuable resource for school staff and families in developing effective communication and speech-language programs.
    • Deliver evidence-based interventions within a Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) Framework to address individual speech-language needs.
    • Assist teachers and parents in identifying and referring students with speech-language challenges.
    • Conduct thorough assessments and diagnoses of speech articulation, voice, fluency, and language.
    • Regularly screen specified grade levels to detect speech and language impairments.
    • Create individualized educational programs (IEPs) for students with speech-language disorders.
    • Collect and analyze data on students' performance to tailor therapy programs.
    • Collaborate with school staff and parents to incorporate therapy strategies into students' daily routines.
    • Provide training and act as a consultant to teachers and staff on speech-language disabilities.
    • Maintain detailed records of students receiving speech-language therapy and share relevant information with school staff.
    • Keep a directory of external agencies and specialists for referral purposes.
    • Analyze evaluation results and prepare comprehensive reports on students' speech-language needs.
    • Regularly communicate with parents and school staff.
    • Perform any other duties required to support the school district's mission and vision.

    REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

    Reports To: Director of Special Services and Building Principal

    Supervises: None

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum: Advanced degree in Speech Language Pathology or Communication Disorders; Missouri Professional Licensure in Speech Language Pathology; Eligibility for a Speech-Language Pathology Student Services Certificate; Strong communication skills.

    Preferred: Experience as a speech-language pathologist in public schools; Professional and friendly demeanor with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment.

    ADA REQUIREMENTS

    Language: Understand and interpret professional literature, policies, and regulations; Write reports and communicate information effectively.

    Reasoning: Solve problems, interpret instructions, and apply professional knowledge in various situations.

    Other skills and Abilities: Adapt teaching methods to students' needs, build strong relationships, and multitask effectively.

    Technology: Proficient in basic computer functions.

    Physical Demands: Ability to sit with students and exert minimal force; Regular attendance is crucial.

    Attendance: Consistent presence is vital for this role.

    Conditions and Environment: Work in a school setting that may be noisy and active.
