    Hayward Holdings Inc.     Based in our Clemmons, NC facility, and reporting to the Senior Manager of Engineering Project Management, the Project Engineer will be responsible for actively participating in the development of electro-mechanical assemblies and systems for innovative pool cleaners, pumps, lighting, and control platforms worldwide. As a Hayward Project Engineer, this hands-on position will design, manage, and execute product design and development from concept through volume production in a cross-functional team environment and ensure that the highest levels of design reliability, quality and performance are observed.

    Responsibilities

  • Lead/Participate in cross-functional engineering teams to meet product and company objectives for the Engineering Project Management group. Define project milestones and report progress from concept to production – for larger projects, these activities will be done in conjunction with a project lead.
  • Provide project ownership for Engineering development projects in support of new product development for all business units at Hayward.
  • Hands-on design and development of complex electro-mechanical assemblies and Bills of Materials in support of product development efforts. Proficiency with using Solidworks or similar CAD tool required.
  • Coordinate all engineering tasks, agency regulations, testing and mitigations as necessary, orchestrate design reviews, support prototype, Alpha and Beta builds and testing for all phases of development.
  • Ability to summarize and provide concise status reports of project progress. Ability to define issues encountered during development and provide options and recommendations for resolution.
  • Work with internal resources and outside vendors and partners in support of product development.
  • Collaborate with Hayward Engineering Services resources for Reliability Engineering, Product Testing and Compliance.
  • Communicate design requirements to Hayward manufacturing and outside suppliers.

    • Qualifications

  • BSME/EE with 6+ years of experience
  • BSME with 6+ years of experience in a Mechanical Engineering product development environment.
  • 3+ years of experience leading cross-functional development efforts (water product experience a plus)
  • Knowledge of safety standards and agency regulations, EMC and Environmental compliance
  • Demonstrated experience with the development of products from concept to final manufacture, balancing cost, performance and schedule. Design and development of medium to high-volume consumer products a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience interfacing with manufacturing engineering and production personnel.
  • Knowledge of product development process tools and analysis methods
  • Experience in electronics integration and packaging, including thermal management of electronics enclosures and cable routing/management.
  • Experience with configuration management and the engineering change control process.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and analytical skills; skill at developing and delivering technical subject matter presentations to non-technical staff and executives.
  • Team player who works across multiple functional areas to deliver project requirements.
