    TITLE: LEAD PARENT EDUCATOR

    STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:

    Provides services and activities in accordance with the Home Visiting Program guidelines to develop positive and enduring relationships with families parenting young children.

    The Lead Parent Educator will serve as a liaison between Parent Educators and Supervisor/Director to ensure families receive consistent research-based, evidence-informed information and that parents are empowered to use the information to create safe and nurturing environments for their children.

    REQUIREMENTS:


    • Bachelor's Degree in Early Child Education, Social Work or related field and/or 5 years' previous supervised work experience with young children and/or parents.
    • At least 1 year experience as a current Parent Educator, 2 years preferred.


    • Must be certified by the National PAT Center annually after completing competency-based professional development and maintain all certifications.


    • Must be comfortable with public speaking and represent the agency in a professional manner .


    • Must demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills with clients and colleagues. Bilingual Spanish-Speaking required.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


    • Successfully enroll newly referred clients within 7 days of assignment


    • Coordinate transition to assigned Parent Educator once enrollment is completed


    • Coordinate facilitation of monthly Group Connections and workshops


    • Identify and communicate obstacles preventing families from connecting with services


    • Prepare charts for audit by the supervisor


    • Attend Best Start meetings and provide quarterly updates to the respective Partnerships


    • Assist with outreach events as requested by the Birth to Five Program Director


    • Provide guidance to newly hired Parent Educators


    • Maintain a maximum caseload of 10 PAT clients during periods of transition
