Brownwood is known for some of the best hunting and fishing in Texas. The people in Brownwood enjoy these recreational perks with less than a ten minute commute to work. The city of Brownwood offers an aquatic center, large recreational lake, and activities that the whole family can enjoy. The medical center has recently opened a Surgery Center. This outpatient surgery center is a joint venture between the medical center and Abilene and Brownwood physicians. It will offer same-day surgery for specialties including otolaryngology (ENT), gastroenterology, orthopedics, podiatry, urology, gynecology, ophthalmology, pain management and plastic surgery.
