- Balancing of new or used centrifuge rotating assemblies as described in technical documents such as drawings, technical bulletins or written instructions.
- Performs safety run on bowls as required
- Checks the correct functioning of the bowl's hydraulic system.
- Disassembles and re-assembles bowl assemblies and checks repeatability of balance values
- Troubleshoots bowl assemblies with functional or balance repeatability issues
- Maintains records of all balanced bowls
- Maintains a clean and organized work environment. Follows all applicable QHSE rules and regulatory requirements
- Fulfills additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
- High School degree or equivalent
- 5 year work experience as Industrial Equipment Mechanic, Millwright or related field.
- Able to read and interpret drawings
- Reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, inspection reports, procedures and manuals. Able to write reports.
- 3 to 5 years' experience in the repair and maintenance of precision machinery, preferably high-speed rotating equipment
- Good analytical skills
- Experience working in the metric system, including use of metric measuring tools and reading / understanding of metric drawings.
- Experience in evaluating and identifying part failures such as corrosion, erosion, cavitation or fatigue in stainless steel parts.
- Detail oriented, self-motivated, dependable and able to work with little direction.
- Adaptable to changing work demands and desire to learn new skills.
- Good social skills and able to work in a team.
