Description

Our firm has partnered with a fast growing, entrepreneurial, industry leader in their search for a Senior Accountant to join their Finance team and help take the company to the next level. This is a newly created position added due to continued and projected company growth. The person hired will report directly to the Controller and enjoy a wide variety of duties/responsibilities. This is an excellent opportunity for someone that wants to learn and advance.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Manage the monthly/quarterly/annual close procedures
Reconcile bank accounts
Reconcile general ledger accounts
Prepare variance analysis and provide commentary
With help from the Controller, prepare annual plan and quarterly forecasts
Record and reconcile credit card accounts
Ensure proper coding of invoices
Review, code, and record expense reports
Ensure proper recording of payroll and related accruals
Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices
Job Costing calculations
Prepare/gather materials for external auditors
Provide assistance to the external auditors as needed

Required Skills and Abilities:

Must have solid general ledger/close experience
Understand how processes work independently and collectively
Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures
Proficiency in MS Office, ERPs, and accounting software
Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports
Ability to perform mathematical calculations quickly and accurately
Accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to stay well organized, prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Positive, service-minded attitude and willingness to always look for ways to make things more efficient/better

Education and Experience:

Bachelors degree in Business Administration with concentration in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of 18 hours in Accounting
Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting
Ability to grow with the company and take on additional responsibilities/promotable
Solid work history with progression in responsibilities
