    This Position will be located in Las Vegas, NM

    Underindirect supervision, this position work closely with rural health care agencies,primary care teams, social services agencies, academic institutions, studentsand preceptors to coordinate clinical rotations expanding rural healthcareworkforce development using the Semillas de Salud "grow your own" healthprofessional model.

    This position will workin community-based settings to link agencies coordinating access to servicesrelated to social determinants of health. They will connect students and communitymembers to the resources of the UNM Health Sciences Center.

    This includescoordinating digital literacy and skills training and distribution oftechnology via lending libraries for the Community Connectivity Projectsupported by United Healthcare.

    Duties:

    • Oversee a range of administrative support for the project
    • Provide linkage for students and community members to direct medical, dental and behavioral health services in the NE region.
    • Coordinate, collect the outcome data, and report on the outcome goals for the Community Connectivity Project

    Serve as the main point of contact with internal and external constituencies for matters concerning the program's activities, outreach, and community participation.


    • Coordinate and maintain communication with project PI, ancillary project staff, and project consultants regarding partnership activities with external communities.
    • Monitor, reconcile, and assist with fiscal administration for the program including: budgets, travel, and purchasing.
    • Expand opportunities to students for rural health professional training using the Semillas de Salud "grow your own health professional" model for coordination of clinical rotations.
    Connect and support participating educational programs, students, clinical agencies and preceptors. This includes data collection on the number of clinical rotations coordinated by health professional type.

    • Provide awareness of and access to the resources provided by the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center to the NE region.
    These include transportation, training and other resources available via Montañas del Norte Area Health Education Center and the Office for Community Health. Examples include mileage reimbursement for clinical rotations, the Social Determinants of Health Training Certificate, and Communities to Careers programming.
    May supervise student employees, volunteers and/or interns; may lead lower-graded staff.

    • Monitor and administer the project budget; may develop or participate in the development of funding proposals for the program.
    • Performs miscellaneous job related duties as assigned.


    Plans andcoordinates the day-to-day fiscal, administrative, and operational activitiesof a narrowly defined, contract or grant funded program/project or set offunded activities.

    Duties typically include assisting with grant planning andadministration, fiscal, budgetary, and/or other associated transactions,program implementation and administration, internal and externaloperational/administrative liaison, program marketing, and reporting.

    If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.

    Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.

    All regular, non-temporary positions assigned to this classification are represented by a labor union and subject to the terms and conditions of the US-UNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.

    Minimum Qualifications

    High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

    Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
