    The Sparkenbaugh Lab, located in the prestigious Blood Research Center at UNC Chapel Hill, is a dynamic and young research group dedicated to unraveling the mechanisms of thrombosis and endothelial injury in red blood cell diseases.

    Our cutting-edge research aims to make significant contributions to the understanding and treatment of these critical medical conditions. We are seeking a higly motivated research technician to join our team.

    The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting ongoing research projects, conducting experiments, and contributing to the overall success of the lab.


    Conduct experiments and assays related to thrombosis and endothelial injury under the guidance of senior researchers. Perform sample collection, preparation, and analysis with precision and attention to detail.

    Maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper functionality and troubleshooting issues as needed. Keep detailed and accurate records of experimental procedures, data, and outcomes.

    Collaborate with team members to achieve research objectives and contribute to the overall success of the lab. Stay current with relevant literature and research developments in the field. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work. Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
    Previous laboratory experience, preferably in a research setting. Strong understanding of basic laboratory techniques and protocols.

    Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

    Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. Proficiency in data analysis software and Microsoft Office Suite.

    Experience with techniques such as PCR, Western blotting, and cell culture. Familiarity with red blood cell diseases and related research areas.
    *Prior experience with laboratory equipment and instrumentation. Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience Bachelor's degree in a related field (Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a relevant discipline) preferred.
