    Description
    The Accounting Manager oversees all accounting functions, ensuring the timely and accurate processing, recording, and reporting of transactions.

    Direct supervision is provided to Cash Receivable Accountants, Accounts Payable Clerks, Client Trust Accountants, and Staff Accountants, along with secondary review of reports and financial analyses.

    Reporting to the Director of Accounting, this role collaborates with various stakeholders including partners, directors, attorneys, paralegals, secretaries, and regional office accounting staff.


    Key Responsibilities:
    Supervise and mentor Cash Receivable Accountants, Accounts Payable Clerks, Client Trust Accountants, and Staff Accountants.
    Assist in developing and enforcing accounting controls and procedures.
    Coordinate all accounting functions, including regional office transactions and checklist maintenance.
    Ensure compliance with firm policies and procedures by New Orleans and regional office accounting staff.
    Conduct financial analysis to identify cost reductions, savings, and budget inconsistencies.
    Timely and accurate preparation of monthly financial reporting package.
    Preparation of capital expenditure budget, partner asset schedules, and debt payment coding.
    Assist in annual budget and mid-year projection preparation.
    Cross train accounting personnel and provide necessary training.
    Conduct performance reviews for New Orleans office accounting personnel.
    Facilitate monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing procedures.
    Work with Director of Accounting for timely year-end audit.
    Prepare daily/monthly reports for Executive Director and Partners.
    Manage compliance with unclaimed property rules, IRS submissions, and local tax reporting.
    Perform duties in a professional, polite, and courteous manner.

    Education and Experience:
    Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; CPA preferred.
    5-7 years of experience with at least 3 years in supervisory roles.
