    Summary

    The Communication Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating internal and external communications and promoting the message of St Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church to build growth through varied media platforms. They will manage parish databases, online platforms, and oversee the various technology needs of the parish. They are also responsible for parish communication internally, parish-wide, and externally. This position will also perform various office administrative duties as needed.

    Essential Duties

    · Manages the parish website, weekly bulletin, social media, flock notes, mail, and Mass announcements. Creates and edits content for each medium.

    · Communicates with Music Ministry to ensure all hymns and songs are displayed appropriately for each mass.

    · Assists with funerals and end of life celebrations by preparing pamphlets, receptions, liturgy aids and videos.

    · Responsible for managing and maintaining St. Elizabeth Ann Seton databases (Church, Religious Education, etc.). Generates queries in parish database.

    · Maintains and manages technology systems and networks (local and online), installs software and hardware, provides technical support, and helps establish protocols for technology usage.

    · Collect and approve church parish minute requests. Obtain approval for these requests from Pastor. Provide approved scripts to Liturgy Coordinator, Parish Manager, Administrative Assistant and Lectors.

    · Authors the weekly bulletin, funeral pamphlets and any other church documentation as needed.

    · Works with Parish Staff and Volunteers to curate photographs. Maintains a library of photographs and other media from liturgies and other extraordinary events.

    · Gather information for priest notes for the weekend masses and sends to the appropriate person(s).

    · Oversees the online registration processes and registration reports for parish events, retreats, bible studies, ministries, Faith Formation, etc. Builds registration forms for ministry leaders and staff as needed.

    · Assists ministries with marketing and promotion of ministry events.

    · Crafts well-written messages for reflections, mailings, outreach, etc.

    · Maintains all communication outlets in a systematic and organized manner.

    · Prepares all overheads and media for the weekend masses, including readings, prayers of the faithful, special announcements, parish minutes, and music.

    · In the absence of the Liturgy Coordinator, operates the Audio / Visual system in the church.

    · Create and edits the YouTube mass. Posts the final copy to the church website and YouTube Channel.

    · Sends Welcome and Donation Thank You Letters to parishioners.

    · Manages any mass mailings to parishioners, including drafting, printing, and assembling letters.

    · Attends and participates in meetings as scheduled.

    Requirements

    Minimum Knowledge and Skills

    · Fully initiated and practicing Catholic.

    · Bachelor's Degree or higher.

    · Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office programs, Google and Apple systems used in the Parish.

    · Fluent in English required; Spanish bilingual preferred.

    · Basic understanding of clerical procedures and systems such as recordkeeping and filing.

    · Must be meticulous, organized, have effective time management skills, be self-motivated, ability to multi-task, and work well independently and on a team.

    · Works weekends and Holy Days.

    · Must have strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

    · Ability to speak effectively and respond to questions from diverse audiences.

    · Must have good critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

    · Ability to work well under pressure.

    · Strong organizational and project management abilities. Ability to always maintain a high-level confidentiality and professionalism.

    Physical Demands / Work Environment:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and occasionally required to climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds with assistance if needed. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
