What will your day look like? As a Snowflake Administrator & Data Support professional, you will:
- Provide day-to-day operational support for Snowflake environments, including user provisioning and access requests.
- Monitor Snowflake costs and usage, identifying optimization opportunities through dashboards and resource monitors.
- Support RBAC implementation by managing roles, permissions, and security controls.
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide production support for Snowflake and related data platforms.
- Handle deployments and releases through GitHub and CI/CD processes.
- Configure and maintain Snowflake databases, schemas, warehouses, and resource monitors.
- Support data sharing, replication, and ETL/ELT pipeline troubleshooting.
- Assist with performance tuning and query optimization efforts.
- Maintain monitoring dashboards and alerts using tools such as Datadog and AWS services.
- Contribute to automation initiatives using Terraform and infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Document procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps in runbooks and knowledge bases.
- Support audit, compliance, disaster recovery testing, and incident response activities.
- 2–3 years of IT experience with exposure to cloud data platforms or data engineering environments.
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake administration or support.
- Foundational SQL knowledge and understanding of database concepts.
- Experience with Python scripting for automation tasks.
- Familiarity with AWS services such as S3, EC2, and Lambda.
- Experience using Git/GitHub for version control and deployments.
- Exposure to tools such as Apache Airflow (MWAA), Oracle, MySQL, Informatica, Terraform, Datadog, or Alation.
- Understanding of RBAC and cloud security concepts.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, respond to production incidents, and integrate quickly into an existing team.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-service-oriented mindset.
- Ability to work onsite in Westbrook, ME for the duration of the contract.
Nice to Have:
- Snowflake certification or formal training.
- Experience with BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Familiarity with disaster recovery, monitoring/alerting tools, and compliance standards.
- Experience in Agile/DevOps environments and CI/CD workflows.
