    The Legal Counsel, National Security & Regulatory will operate in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment which requires flexibility, adaptability and initiative, as well as excellent organization and problem-solving skills.

    This role act as a key member of Aptiv's Global Legal and Compliance Team, acting as primary counsel on key regulatory matters, including global trade, cybersecurity, government contracting and national security matters.

    Excellent oral and written communication skills (writing sample may be requested)
    Demonstrated leadership and management skills, including project management skills
    Ability to handle a variety of complex legal matters and identify, anticipate, and develop strategies to mitigate legal risks
    Ability to serve as a business partner to senior executives and build consensus on complex legal and business issues while viewing legal issues through a business lens
    Provide Legal Counsel on regulatory, compliance and governance matters related to National Security
    Collaborate closely with the National Security Compliance team, to advise on the execution of security compliance, and to draft and advise on policies, processes, templates and training materials
    Partner with other legal specialists and outside counsel to coordinate research, investigate legal issues, ensure compliance with regulations, and monitor regulatory developments and evolving best practices
    Advise on appropriate responses to international, federal and state governmental and external stakeholder inquiries regarding security practices
    Provide support to Aptiv's Global Legal & Compliance operations, risk management and strategic objectives
    Manage multiple project initiatives, to deliver critical legal and business workstreams
    JD degree from an ABA-accredited law school
    ~ 5+ years of experience as an attorney advising multi-national organizations on strategic legal initiatives, including national security compliance, and specifically one or more of the following:

    Experience with the FAR/DFARS and contractor compliance programs;
    Experience working with other compliance areas, including in particular cybersecurity;
    Experience working with defense and national security agencies;

    Experience with compliance programs for COTS companies that have a substantial market presence with defense and national security agencies; Experience with compliance programs for global trade, export and sanctions regulations.

    Experience working in a law firm and a corporate legal environment preferred.
    Experience advising on data privacy and other security matters preferred.
