    ABOUT THIS FEATURED OPPORTUNITY

    As a Lab Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining the hardware lab. This includes leading the installation, configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance of all lab infrastructure. You should have hands on knowledge of different lab management processes including required electrical, mechanical, and environmental equipment, inventory and infrastructure management to support multiple product categories and teams. You will closely collaborate with other infrastructure teams to ensure high availability of tools while maintaining compliance with associated codes.

    You will support new product development by supporting product investigations and testing to deliver best in class AR/VR products. You will collaborate closely with Reliability Engineers and cross-functional teams such as Quality, CM management and Factory Ops to solve issues. Lab services will include lab services such as waterfall testing, debug/failure analysis and benchmark testing.

    This team is looking for someone who can wear multiple hats depending on the task at hand. The ideal candidate has a 'can do' attitude with a strong background in reliability testing, lab management and is an experienced lab engineer looking to take on additional responsibilities.

    This role is supporting cutting edge AR/VR solutions, and the person should have a passion for being a part of that mission.

    THE OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU

    • Oversee proper and safe lab usage.
    • Ensure team members have proper safety training for access to the lab and all safety equipment is working properly
    • Control access to the lab as needed by maintaining an active roster of users and granting or recalling permissions as necessary
    • Manage proper disposal of chemical waste
    • Oversee the optimal daily operation of the lab and equipment
    • Ensure the lab is properly stocked with supplies
    • Ensure lab is functioning at top efficiency and that all equipment is operational and calibrated
    • Document, verify, and ensure alignment of accurate equipment needs from the team scientists and other lab stakeholders
    • Manage and balance workloads of the technicians
    • Establish and maintain lab metrics to ensure efficient operation of lab and personnel resources
    • Manage the lab equipment pipeline for new lab buildouts
    • Work with facilities, procurement, and finance to ensure lab equipment ordering is planned to support lab build-out within budget and timing targets
    • Operate lab equipment to help team members complete tasks
    • Manage projects cross-functionally with lab stakeholders
    • Coordinate with facilities, building contractors, and vendors to ensure alignment on lab equipment needs and details
    • Work with procurement to ensure equipment maintenance contracts are in place where appropriate
    • Bolster stakeholder communications and disseminate pertinent information via internal communication tools including task systems, group workspaces, and chat messaging
    • Coordinate with lab owners and scientist to ensure lab output lab functionality is as desired

    KEY SUCCESS FACTORS

    • BS or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent discipline
    • At least 5 years of experience in reliability testing
    • 3+ years experience working in high technology environment supporting
    • 3+ multiple project and multiple-deadline environment
    • Experience developing and performing reliability tests including (but not limited to) mechanical, shock, vibration, environmental, and characterization testing
    • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
    • Experience executing tasks to meet deadlines.
    • Experience with Microsoft Office / G-suite applications

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Proficient in LabView programing (and/or other automation tools)
    • Strong experience in reliability testing of prototypes, FA and characterization of early product concepts
    • Experience setting up and running multiple labs in industries such as consumer electronics, automotive, aerospace, or defense
    • Experience with establishing workflows within a lab space layout
