    Join the Mount Sinai Kravis Children's Hospital as part of an exciting new opportunity dedicated to upholding the quality and safety program within the Children's Heart Center.

    Reporting directly to the quality and safety leadership of the Children's Heart Center, with matrixed oversight from the office of the Chief Medical Officer of Kravis Children's Hospital, this role will be pivotal to care delivery and operations throughout the Children's Heart Center


    The Clinical Program Manager is responsible for assuring compliance with mandated clinical orientation, competency assessment and interventions in the assigned clinical program of designated nursing staff within the Medical Center.

    This individual interfaces directly with MSMC Departments, Administrators, Nursing, Medical and Quality Leadership, and Clinical Staff, managing the educational and operational impact of all clinical care delivery, staff performance, and outcome measures to support clinical practice.

    Responsibilities


    Overall Summary:

    • Establish and uphold a safety and quality vision with Children's Heart and Kravis Children's Hospital leaders
    • Represent Children's Heart in matters related to safety and quality, working across multiple disciplines, departments and committees in the Heart Center and Hospital
    • Educate, provide guidance and empower nursing leaders and clinical nursing staff to use performance improvement tools and methods to build a just culture that holds patient and staff safety in the highest regard
    • Oversee administrative and daily operations of all safety and quality improvement efforts being implemented and measured in the Children's Heart Center


    Assure compliance with nursing standards, policies and procedures in Kravis Children's Hospital including nurse sensitive indicators, core measures, and all other metrics to demonstrate outcomes according to benchmarks.

    Principle Duties and Responsibilities

    Work with multidisciplinary leadership and frontline staff within the Children's Heart Center to:


    • Identify opportunities to improve patient safety and quality outcomes
    • Assists in the development and design of formal safety and quality improvement efforts to improve nursing clinical processes and patient outcomes as evidenced by increased compliance outcome metrics.
    • Provides support and educational resources to departments and services relative to nursing safety and quality assessment and improvement processes.
    • Assists in establishing and implementing short and long term goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures for core measures programs.
    • Provides coordination and leadership in the execution of day to day program activities, as appropriate to safety and quality program objectives and performance improvement expertise.
    • Oversees the collection, compilation, and analysis of clinical program activity data offering interpretation of results for performance improvement.
    • Provides technical assistance, resource services, consultation and education to clinical departments relative to safety and quality efforts.
    • Participates in and conducts process improvement analysis.
    • Responsible for assuring data is entered into relevant databases to achieve national and local benchmarking and reporting.
    • Responsible for extension of the program in terms of new services or areas.
    • Promotes an interdisciplinary approach in patient care delivery.
    • Serves as a resource for patients and their families. Acts as a patient advocate utilizing the Patient Bill of Rights.
    • Serves as a role model in promoting and maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment.

    Administrative Practice


    • Prepares reports and analysis associated with the Mount Sinai Children's Heart Center and Mount Sinai Kravis Children's Hospital senior management reports, and clinical service program evaluation, quarterly reports, etc.
    • Oversees and coordinates all data entry for accurate reports.
    • Facilitates collaboration within the Heart Center between all specialties, services and units.
    • Provides timely status reports of results of quality monitoring relative to areas that are assigned including identification of patterns and trends requiring actions.
    • Collaborates with other members of the healthcare team in the development, implementation, and ongoing review of policies, procedures, and standards of care for the Pediatric population and clinical intervention.
    • Demonstrates knowledge of hospital, departmental and care center standards, policies, procedures and guidelines as well as regulatory agency standards. Assures readiness for Joint Commission and other agency surveys and presents related programs during Joint Commission and other agency visits.
    • Participates in the development and implementation of continuous safety and quality improvement programs to meet all regulatory agency requirements and standards.
    • Participates in center and hospital wide committees.
    • Is aware of and responsive to budgetary constraints and incorporates financial principles into program development and allocation of resources.
    • Recognizes each individual's right to health care unrestricted by age, race, color, sex, age, national origin, disability, sexual orientation or source of payment.
    • Assists I the performance appraisal process of designated Nursing staff.
    • Researches opportunities for use in benchmarking for assigned areas.
    Qualifications

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required


    • Ability to read, write, understand and speak English in a clear and concise manner.
    • Visual acuity and aural acuity to assess patient status.
    • Communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with a wide variety of individuals.
    • Ability to use advanced data entry, computer program and retrieval systems.
    • Ability to organize information and teach others.
    • Analytic ability to collect and organize information, identify problems and trends, and formulate and implement corrective plans or programs.
    • Ability to coordinate, prioritized, and allocate resources.
    • Oriented to consumer satisfaction and the patient experience.
    • Physical stamina, dexterity and mental health necessary to coordinate a broad variety or services and programs for the pediatric population on a daily basis.
    • Demonstrate the following minimum requirements:
    • Licensure: New York State License with current registration as a registered professional nurse.
    • Education:
    • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing Required
    • 5+ years of experience in a healthcare related position, preferably in Quality and Performance Improvement
    • Masters in Nursing/ Health related field or enrollment in a Masters program required.
    • Certification in Quality Improvement Science Preferred or willing to acquire
    • Experience: Progressive job related experience in pediatrics and safety and quality

    The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements.

    The salary range for the role is $ $173241 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need.
