The Director of Nursing plans directs and evaluates nursing services coordinates nursing services with other departments to effectively and adequately meet the needs of residents staff and plans for on-site continuing education for all staff members participates in departmental meetings attends and participates committee activities review and revises policies procedures as necessary performs other duties as related to the nursing department The Director of Nursing must have maintain the ability to direct instruct employees in duties techniques principles be able to maintain good working relationships with other departments The Director of Nursing is also responsible for the hiring training development of the nursing staff This includes the development of a structured safe positive therapeutic milieu.
