Job Summary
The Security Guard is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment on the property. The role involves monitoring premises, controlling access, performing patrols, and reporting suspicious activities or incidents.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and patrol assigned areas to prevent theft, violence, or safety violations
- Control entry and exit of employees, visitors
- Report suspicious behavior, hazards, or security breaches
- Respond to emergencies (fire, medical, disturbance) and alert appropriate authorities
- Maintain daily logbook and incident reports
- Ensure doors, windows, and gates are secured
- Assist in evacuation procedures during emergencies
- Provide basic customer service and guidance to visitors
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic understanding of security procedures
- Ability to read and write incident reports in English
- Physically fit and able to stand/walk for long periods
- Willingness to work shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
- Prior experience in security, military, or law enforcement (0–2 years)
- Valid Security Guard License (as per state/country regulations)
- First Aid / CPR
