Description
Overview:
The Transportation Management Planner ensures customer transportation needs are executed at a high level, process and best practices are taught to new and existing Coordinators.
Responsibilities:
Manages and executes daily shipment activity for customers.
Follows and reinforces client rules, parameters, and standard operating procedures
Establishes and refines standard operating procedures
Responds timely to client requests and inquiries
Builds customer relationships with supply chain, warehouse, coordinator, and customer service contacts on their respective account(s)
Resolves client issues quickly and efficiently
Manages shipment routing guides
Communicates with managed and incumbent carriers and tenders shipments based on customer route guide
Collaborate with NFI brokerage account management and carrier sales
Schedule appointments and executes shipment tracking procedures
Executes intermediate shipment optimization activities
Generates reports at the request of our customers or NFI Account Manager
Manages shipment exception process
Facilitates claims filing on behalf of customer
Uses various transportation software platforms to facilitate shipment execution
Assists with freight bill audit & payment processes through customer, carrier, and internal inquiries
Provides support on miscellaneous projects as needed
Qualifications:
HS Diploma
BA or BS Degree preferred, but not required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong attention to detail with excellent follow-up skills
Professional aptitude, presentation and demeanor
Ability to meet/exceed time-sensitive deadlines
Ability to multitask and problem solve
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
Basic computer experience (E-mail, Internet)
Experience with Microsoft Excel a plus
