Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Grill Cook/Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and cooking, with experience in various kitchen environments. This role involves preparing ingredients, cooking meals, and ensuring that all food safety standards are met while maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of menu items according to established recipes and standards.
- Assist in menu planning, ensuring that meals are nutritious and appealing.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper food storage practices.
- Follow food safety guidelines to ensure the health and safety of all patrons.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including grills, fryers, and ovens.
- Assist in catering events as needed, providing high-quality food service to guests.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the head chef or kitchen manager.
- Assist in retrieving and washing dishes and putting up as needed/when dishwasher isn't there.
Skills
- Proven experience in the food industry with a focus on cooking and meal preparation.
- Strong culinary skills with an emphasis on grill cooking techniques.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
- Excellent knife skills for efficient food preparation.
- Experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Familiarity with catering services and serving techniques is advantageous.
