Job Description
TITLE: Math Intervention Teacher
REPORTS TO: Principal
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 186 days
JOB SUMMARY: To provide remedial Mathematics support using expertise to assess student proficiency, identify specific areas of ability, deficiency and/or strength
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree or higher required
Valid Massachusetts teacher certification covering appropriate area of responsibility
Knowledge of Massachusetts Curriculum Framework for Mathematics
Experience and training with assessments and analyzing data to drive instruction
Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communication
Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups
Experience with industry-standard computer applications
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Use expertise to assess student proficiency and identify specific areas of ability
Assess deficiencies and/or strengths in order to prescribe an appropriate individualized intervention plan
Group students with similar needs for instruction, provide individual and group instruction
Evaluate student performance relative to established grad level standards and individual progress
Maintain accurate student folder records and report student progress to parents, teachers and the school/district administration.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated by the Principal or Assistant Principal based upon the Educator Evaluation
