    Led by dynamic owner Joe Gurrera Citarella has grown from a respected NYC fish market into a full-scale Ultimate Gourmet Market with locations across New York City the Hamptons and Greenwich Connecticut A family-run business we're driven by passion for great food We delight customers with finest selection of fresh seafood prime dry-aged beef chef-prepared specialties handcrafted pastries international cheeses imported groceries more As Meat Department Manager you are key player in overseeing managing all aspects of meat department including but not limited to department profitability displays oversee inventory control leading team to successfully drive business/sales Our guest is heart of our business As Meat Department Manager you will be responsible for providing every guest with exceptional shopping experience listening responding their needs being subject matter expert your department All Meat Department Managers must have vast meat knowledge hospitality skills display positive energy be dependable possess basic math skills excellent communication skills Responsibilities & Duties

    • Prepare package weigh price meat department products sale Trim debone portion all department offerings request Manage maintain department inventory levels Model deliver exceptional guest service ensure guest needs met timely fashion Oversee day day operations meat department Receive merchandise break down pallets manage vendor invoices/picklists ensure product meets/exceeds Citarella standards Manage department profitability merchandising guest service appearance team member supervision Write department schedules approve team members PTO time maintain timecards manage labor Supervise team members ensuring service standards always being met Advanced knife skills Collaborate buyer ensure proper product assortment merchandising ordering inventory control Monitor quality freshness safeguard proper product rotation Adhere DOH DOA OSHA standards Ensure cleaned maintained throughout shifts Chicken case display case walk-in cooler cutting boards counter tops Maintain accurate department signage pricing Direct support team members opening closing procedures Assist store leadership required select train develop mentor new existing team members Cultivate develop retain team members motivation feedback Write semi-annual/annual performance reviews associates Adhere assigned duties management.
    Qualifications Education Requirements
    • Minimum years experience managing meat departments grocery environment Flexibility schedule nights weekends holidays Ability perform physical requirements job standing kneeling stooping stairs lifting push pull items usually pounds Vast knowledge handling perishable items product rotation Food safety sanitation knowledge Ability show initiative work limited supervision self-motivated Ability hire train inspire develop teams Team builder brand ambassador Excellent interpersonal organizational analytical thinking math proficiency Microsoft Outlook Word Excel
