This position provides academic advising services to prospective and current students at Minnesota West Community & Technical College.
This position is located on the Worthington campus.
Responsibilities
- All employees on a daily basis are expected to execute a service commitment to ensure all students are served and have a positive experience.
- Provide coaching services through the appreciative advising model to new, current returning returning returning PSEO students ensure served holistically in partnership faculty athletic coaches directors other college departments advise appropriate course selection troubleshoot issues overcome achievement barriers track report advisees academic progress identify risk develop implement recovery plans retention strategies ensuring student retention successful completion of their academic programs support with academic concerns warning probation suspensions guide college-wide resources career exploration personal support provide effective learning strategies time management skills goal setting techniques interpret translate policies guidelines procedures serve organizational liaison assigned programs populations continuously develop coaching techniques utilize empower promote success participate development activities maintain relevant organizations plan organize implement activities related course placement financial aid transfer utilize Advising technology tools proactively communicate track progress recognize relevant resources skills educational journey plan facilitate orientations advising registration sessions advise accurate information admissions registration progress graduation transfer serve collegewide liaison International Students advise applicants admissions requirements international student compliance SEVIS system perform other duties committee projects work ongoing professional development smooth functioning department reputation college business partner
