    Position Summary:


    The RN in the Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehabilitation department provides service to patients and their families; development of exercise prescriptions for clients in all programs; development of educational materials; providing teaching in relation to exercise, activity, nutrition, disease processes, prevention and overall wellness in order to facilitate behavior modification; supervision of exercise sessions; complete treatment plans/reports and coordination of care with physicians and other team members.


    Job Relationships:
    Reports to Director of Rehabilitation Services and Assistant Director of Cardio/Pulmonary Rehabilitation.

    Education and Training Required:

    • Current licensure as an RN in the state of Wisconsin.
    • CPR Certified.
    • ACLS within 1 year of hire.

    Experience:

    • A background in cardiac and pulmonary care, exercise prescription experience, and experience in an out patient cardiac/pulmonary program preferred. Must be competent in EKG/telemetry interpretation.

    Physical Requirements:

    Physical Demands:
    ⚬Occasionally sit while performing the tasks of the role (scheduling, developing & reviewing protocols/procedures, job descriptions, etc.).⚬Occasionally carry objects weighing less than 10 pounds.

    ⚬Frequently walk and stand.⚬Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds while transferring and positioning patients and maneuvering equipment.

    ⚬Frequently bend to the floor, squat, kneel, crouch and reach overhead to assists with patient care or retrieve equipment and/or supplies

    .⚬Frequently handle objects, smell, feel, control knobs, switches and levers.


    Sight:
    ⚬Occasionally use sight capacities, including spatial, peripheral, colors and accommodation and depth perception.

    ⚬Frequently use near and far vision while reviewing patient records, computer screens, charts, gauges on patient equipment, monitors, etc.

    Cognition/Communication:
    ⚬Frequently utilizes simple reading skills, and normal conversations.⚬Frequently and effectively communicate with physicians, patients, family members, staff, other departments, and vendors using hearing and written skills.

    ⚬Occasional exposure to comprehensive speech, both simple and complex writing skills, basic and complex math.⚬Frequently is exposed to low volume speech with patients and telephone conversations with other members of the healthcare team, physicians and family members.


    Environmental Conditions:
    ⚬Continual exposure to an inside, patient environment with occasional unpleasant odors or noises.⚬Occasional exposure to low light or glare conditions.⚬A constant, indoor windowless environment.


    Potential Hazards:
    ⚬Occasional exposure to infectious blood/body fluids and diseases requiring infection control practices, red infectious waste.⚬Occasional exposure to needles/syringes/sharps during medical administration, assistance with treatments.⚬Potential for harm and moving mechanical parts while performing patient care.

    ⚬Frequent problem solving, analyzing, use of judgment and critical thinking in regards to lab values, changes of patient condition, environmental factors, flexibility.

    ⚬Frequently take initiative, work closely and motivate others.

    ⚬Occasionally prioritize workflow while maintaining speed, accuracy and consistency.⚬Constant interpersonal skills sufficient to work closely with others including patients, family members, coworkers and physicians.⚬Frequently show flexibility in dealing with changing tasks, and requirements on your time.

    ⚬Frequently work under stressful situations and high workloads.
