Job summary

The Division of Brand Inspection's primary responsibility is to protect the livestock industry from loss by theft, illegal butchering or straying of livestock. Colorado brand inspectors are charged with inspecting and verifying ownership on all cattle and horses in Colorado that change ownership, are transported over 75 miles within the state, transported out of the state, or transported to slaughter.
