- Education: Minimum High school education or equivalent. Preferred completion of a formal pharmacy technician training program.
- Credentials/Licensure: Minimum Licensed as a Pharmacy Technician in the State of Michigan. Preferred active status as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
- Related Experience: Minimum One year of pharmacy work experience.
- Other knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Minimum Good written and verbal communication skills. Good math skills in calculations like fractions, decimals, percentages, and volumes. Good communication skills.
- Repetitive use of hands and fingers (e.g., preparing IV admixtures, use of a computer keyboard).
- Lifting and carrying light loads (up to 40 lbs.), including boxes, equipment, unit dose-cassettes, and IV solutions, stooping or kneeling.
- Sitting, walking, or standing for long periods of time (4-8 hours).
- Must be able to operate the equipment for the job.
- Prepares, packages, and distributes medication orders per physician/pharmacist request.
- Maintains stock of medications and supplies.
- Contributes to the effective operation of the department.
- Handles documentation, answers calls, and transactions.
- Prepares IV admixtures and sterile products.
- Processes medication charges and credits.
- Participates in the training and education of pharmacy students/residents.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Computer Competency
Familiarity with standard desktop and windows-based computer system, including email, e-learning, intranet and computer navigation. Able to use other software required to perform essential functions.
