    Charter Steel in Cleveland, OH is looking for an Operations Technology Engineer to join our Automation team. In this key role, you will work closely with several departments to improve Operation Technology systems by identifying production and quality issues that could be improved or solved using automation.

    Our ideal candidate can be based anywhere in the United States and must travel to Cleveland during testing and commissioning of maintenance systems as required, about 2-4 times per year.

    WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
    • Identify opportunities and comply with safety, quality, departmental, and environmental policies, and procedures.
    • Ability to solve complex technological challenges.
    • Serves in a supporting role to the plant and business operations.
    • Support a 24/7-hour manufacturing environment as part of a team.
      • Guide, coach, and mentor internal and external partners on design standards, changes to functionality, new applications, and best practices.
    • Support production technology platforms that exist within the ANSI/ISA-95, IEC/ISO 62264 standard.
    • Support the estimation and management of assigned projects.
    • Collaborate with other OT and IT support teams to maintain secured OT infrastructure for manufacturing operations and actively participate in cybersecurity compliance initiatives.
    • Ensure software development lifecycle management practices are followed, ensuring documentation and revision control standards.
    • Partnering with Business and Operational teams to utilize technology solutions to support business objectives.
    • Ability to meet the essential job requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation, as outlined in the job description.
    WHAT WE WOULD LIKE TO SEE FROM YOU
    • Bachelor's Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) or commensurate experience.
    • Four years' professional experience with one or more high-level languages such as VB, Java, C#, and C++, C# for web, mobile and stand-alone applications.
    • Four years' professional experience in multiple scripting languages like JavaScript, Python Script, and SQL script.
    • Two years' professional experience in database management and application integration.
    • Experience supporting multiple tasks and projects as an individual or as part of a team.
    • Experience integrating software applications with physical process systems.
    • Experience with MES, and manufacturing application development.
    • Experience working with a team using DevOps, Agile methodologies, and environments.
    • Good verbal and written communication skills.
