    Intake Specialist Responsibilities:
    Serves as the initial point of contact for Mental Health Intake following the psychiatric evaluation.

    Provides face-to-face assessment to determine if an individual meets designated definitions of priority population and eligibility requirements for ongoing mental health services.

    Assists with the service package enrollment for individuals including an initial CANS or ANSA to assist with determination of level of care completed in SmartCare.

    Provides information on Methods of obtaining Psychiatric Advance Directives.

    Completes Mental Health Intake Packet to include Explanation and Discussion of Client Rights, Appeals, Consent to Treatment, Acknowledgement of Privacy Practices and Voter Registration.

    Follow-up with individuals related to appointments and scheduling. Link to appropriate referrals and provide resource information. Reviews Screening/Triage documentation. Serves as a back-up for Triage including conducting screenings, taking phone calls and questions/inquiries. Assists supervisor and other StarCare staff with special assignments and/or projects. Communicates appropriate information to supervisor, program staff and other StarCare employees. Attends all required meetings and trainings. Completes all required documentation within established timeframes. This position ensures all activities support the vision, mission and values of StarCare Specialty Health System.


    Schedule:
    This is a full-time/non-exempt position scheduled Monday
    • Friday, 8am 5pm, with flexibility to meet the needs of the department.
    This position works on-site at StarCare's Sunrise Canyon Behavioral Health Complex located at 1950 Aspen Ave, Lubbock, TX.

    QualificationsEducation Requirements:

    Bachelors degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university with major in Human Services or related field (Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Family Studies, etc.).


    Skills & Abilities:


    Two (2) years of full-time experience administering the CANS (Children's Needs and Strength Assessment) and/or ANSA (Adult Needs and Strengths Assessment) is required.

    Knowledge of human service delivery systems. Bilingual (Spanish/English) is preferred. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
    Ability to organize, prioritize a variety of assignments and manage time effectively.
    Detail oriented.
    Ability to maintain effective working relationships with individuals receiving services, other employees, and the public.
    Knowledge and skill in operating standard office equipment (personal computer, phone, fax, printer, copier, etc.) and Microsoft Office products.


    Additional Requirements:
    Must pass a pre-hire drug screen and criminal background check.
    Must have a Texas driver's license and be insurable under the Agency's insurance.
    Must possess and maintain CANS/ANSA certification.
