    JOB SUMMARY:
    Performs varied and diverse duties requiring knowledge of office systems and procedures.

    Clerical duties may be assigned in accordance to necessity of department needs and may include a combination of answering telephones, typing office machine operation, and filing.

    Ensures the safety and well being of the residents at Highland Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is maintained.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Ensure all person's entering and exiting the facility have authorization to do so.
    • Operate office equipment such as fax machines, copiers, and phone systems, and use computers for spreadsheet, word processing, database management, and other applications.
    • Perform general office duties such as ordering supplies and maintaining records management systems.
    • Prepare invoices, reports, memos, letters, and other documents, using word processing, spreadsheet, database, and/or presentation software, as requested
    • Sort and route incoming mail, answer correspondence, and prepare outgoing mail.
    • Greet visitors and determine nature and purpose of visit, direct them to specific destinations or the appropriate persons according to their needs.
    • Complete word processing and clerical assignments with review of the assignee.(Filing, typing copying)
    • Obtain, review and apply new information to Resident Room Listing, Department Notifications, and Department Directory.
    • Answer telephones and give information to callers, take messages, or transfer calls to appropriate individuals.
    • Ensure no personal calls are relayed directly to personnel during his/her work hours unless it is an emergency
    • Route emergency calls appropriately.
    • Make copies of correspondence and other printed material.
    • Provide information about establishment, such as location of departments or offices, employees within the organization, or services provided.
    • Operate communication systems, such as telephone, switchboard, intercom, two-way radio, or public address.
    • Beep individuals to inform them of telephone calls, using beeper and interoffice communication equipment.
    • If the receptionist needs to leave the front desk at any time then s/he needs to have appropriate coverage in place.
    • All other duties as assigned.

    Reading Comprehension — Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
