JOB SUMMARY
To provide a superior level of cleaning quality in an assigned area to maintain a clean working environment. Cleans and disinfects all areas of the Hospital as assigned. Cross trains in Laundry to clean sheets, towels, blankets, wash cloths, etc. Reports to Environmental Services Director. Non-Exempt position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Performs routine cleaning of patient rooms, nursing units, offices, clinical areas, waiting areas, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms in a clean, neat and sanitary manner.
Uses and performs routine maintenance on all equipment.
Collect and transports trash and medical waste in appropriate manner to disposal area.
Replenishes supplies as needed.
Responds to EVS calls in a timely manner.
Records work completed on Area Assignment Checklist
As Laundry Aide
Sort dirty linen, wash, dry, fold and place in appropriate storage bins.
Treat soiled linens according to rules and regulations (isolation, contamination, etc.)
Uses and performs routine maintenance on all equipment.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Required Skills
Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service.
Must possess high degree of organization and be able to multi-task efficiently and effectively.
Basic computer knowledge required, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
Ability to use standard office equipment (copier, fax, etc.).
FUNCTIONAL DEMANDS
Functional Job Requirements:
Job requirements include, but are not limited to: sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, bending, squatting and reaching. Requires good finger dexterity, repetitive motions with hands and fingers. Requires ability to have good vision and hearing. Pushing and pulling equipment may be necessary.

Job requires heavy lifting on an occasional basis.
