    In the course of a year, we provide more than 3,000 children, ages 6 weeks through Pre-K with high-quality literacy and STEAM-infused learning; give 58,000 youth and teens access to sports, aquatics, day and resident camps, teen leadership development programs, and employment opportunities; provide over 200,000 members with programs, services, and facilities to enjoy connection and maintain wellness regardless of age; and engage over 25,000 volunteers and donors from across Atlanta to share in the gift of supporting their communities.


    Nature and Scope:
    Under direction of the Lead Counselor & Camp Director/Asst. Camp Director, the Camp Admin will serve as the primary point of contact for parent communications and camper registrations. Responsible for care of equipment and overall upkeep of the office area. This position will be responsible for maintaining records and assisting with registration for all camp families and programs. The Camp Admin is responsible for maintaining a professional and organized office environment.

    Responsible for achieving the goals of the day camp through planning and implementation of activities which provide guidance, leadership, values education and enjoyment for children served by the camp.


    Minimum Requirements:

    • High School Diploma completed
    • 1-2 years' experience working with children in a structured setting
    • Must be at least 18 years of age
    • Required certifications current First Aid/CPR; must obtain any other certifications required for the position
    • Complete PPE and safety protocol training prior to first shift.
    • Must have a good understanding of Microsoft Office and be well-versed in basic computer software.
    • Pass a criminal background and drug screening check
    • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks, work independently, problem solve and possess effective time management skills.
    • Strong customer service skills and personal commitment to service and hospitality.
    • Pass a Motor Vehicles Record Check and have own transportation
    • CPR within 30 days of employment and maintain throughout employment
    • Exemplify YMCA ideals, leadership qualities.

    Responsibilities:

    • Perform COVID 19 safety procedures and all other necessary protocols before, during, and post camp.
    • To include: Personal temperature checks, camper and parent temperature checks and prescreen questions, sanitation of camp areas.
    • Assure that all necessary PPE are available to provide an effective and safe program
    • Administrative include, but are not limited to: parent communication, discipline, supervision of staff at his/her site, prompt decision making, and supervision of site in conjunction with and in the absence of the Site Director.
    • Check overall attendance each morning and report attendance to Camp Director.
    • Ensure lesson plans are being followed as an integral part of daily program, make changes as needed.
    • Report all program changes and equipment needed to Camp Director and Camp Leads
    • Maintain all equipment used for program in good working order.
    • Carry out daily program tasks related directly to the position's scope and responsibility.
    • Maintain branch and association certifications in CPR, Metro Atlanta YMCA New Staff Orientation and Branch off-site Emergency procedures and any other required certifications and/or training required by the Metro Atlanta YMCA.
    • Assist as needed in all aspects of the YMCA and its community.
    • Attend and participate in all staff trainings and meetings.
    • Responsible for maintaining and reporting incident/accident paperwork.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    EFFECT ON END RESULT:


    This position has a primary impact on the overall effectiveness of the Day Camp program and the success of services to the community.

    The effectiveness of this position is primarily measured by the stated satisfaction of members and ensuring a safe, clean, controlled and fun environment in accordance with the Metro Atlanta YMCA Philosophy.


    ERGONOMICS:
    Ability to work actively while supervising children. Ability to climb, walk, run, stoop, squat or kneel. Ability to lift and carry equipment to appropriate destinations or affect the carrying of such equipment. Ability to use senses which enable safe supervision including seeing and/or hearing.     Employment Requirement:

    • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check including Criminal Record check, Drug Screening and motor vehicle record (MVR) according to company policy.
    • Must be legally eligible to work in the US without current or future sponsorship.
