    Description
    The following are the duties of this position at the GS-07.

    If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.


    As a Museum Technician (History), you will:
    Ensure inventory information is accurate in the collections management system and manage physical conditions of the collection.

    Use digital camera(s) and/or scanner(s) to create clear, appropriate digital images for a wide variety of artifacts and collection records following standard museum and NARA guidelines.

    Complete assigned tasks related to exhibit research, object selection, and text editing and formatting, as needed.
    Gather data for reporting and develop and create content for social media platforms.

    Apply agency-wide and site-specific methods and standards for accessioning and cataloging, including numbering, description, object labeling, and other associated tasks for museum holdings.
