    PRIMARY PURPOSE:

    Under the direction of the Accounting Manager, maintain the day to day accounting/finance functions

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

    • Ensure staff compliance with Boston MedFlight accounting procedures and documentation requirements
    • Maintain and balance accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and analyzing account information
    • Prepare monthly financial statements and PI indicators
    • Review work and provide support to the AP Coordinator and Staff Accountant
    • Responsible for the filing of the fuel excise tax returns and the preparation of year-end 1099 forms
    • Assist Accounting Manager with budgeting and forecasting
    • Assist with quarterly and year-end financial audit activities and the filing of all tax requirements
    • Prepare annual cost report
    • Track compliance for all leases, mortgages, contracts, MOU's and other agreements
    • Ensure the general ledger is accurate based on budgeted information
    • Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions

    POTENTIAL DUTIES:

    • Unrestricted travel
    • Assigned administrative duties

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Minimum 5 years accounting experience required and accounting/business degree preferred
    • Strong knowledge of Excel, Word, Adobe, Outlook and accounting software systems
    • High attention to detail and accuracy
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Must be able to speak, read, write and comprehend the English language without restriction
    • Must be able to maintain peer accountability, be an effective problem solver and maintain professional demeanor and confidentiality at all times
    • Must be a self-motivated individual willing to take initiative and able to function with minimal supervision

    NOTES: An FBI background and CORI checks will be performed prior to employment.
