    Amergis Staffing has an immediate opening for a Speech Language Pathologist (SLPA) in Oxnard, CA.

    Position details:

    • Hours: 37.5 hours per week
    • Elementary
    • Mild/Mod
    • One Para assisting
    • Local rate: $52/hr (ask about travel pay)
    • Start: ASAP
    • Must be available for ESY (7/1-7/30) and NSY (8/15-6/18)

    Amergis Educational Staffing is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) to assist a credentialed Speech Language Pathologist in providing speech therapy assessment services to identified students in accordance with Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals; provides services to students with specialized needs; and performs a variety of duties in support of student case management services; and to perform a variety of duties related to assigned area of responsibility. This position does not develop curriculum.

    Responsibilities:

    • Conducts speech and language screenings, without interpretations, developed by the supervising Speech and Language Pathologist. Provides direct treatment assistance to individuals or small groups of students under the supervision of the Speech and Language Pathologist.
    • Follows and implements treatment plans developed by the supervising Speech and Language Pathologist. Documents student progress toward meeting established goals and objectives, and reports the information to the supervising Speech and Language Pathologist. This may include, but is not limited to preparing charts, recording progress and data.
    • Assists the Speech and Language Pathologist during assessment.
    • Prepares materials and performs various clerical works for the supervising Speech and Language Pathologist. Assists the Speech and Language Pathologist with in-service training and family education.
    • Assists with the arrangement and storage of classroom equipment including displays, bulletin boards, and accessories. Participates in I.E.P.s and parent conferences as appropriate.
    • Assists in directing special education students in safe learning activities and functions, in shaping appropriate social behaviors in a variety of self-help activities in the educations or public environment.
    • Assists in monitoring student behavior and reinforcement strategies as directed.
    • Assists students in the development of communication skills and serves as an appropriate language model.
    • Assists in the preparation of specialized instructional materials for use with students possessing special learning problems; may include duplicating, gathering and organizing materials and setting up audio visual equipment.
    • Attends a variety of meetings, workshops and in-service training to maintain current knowledge of developments in the field of Speech-Language Pathology.
