    ? About Med Surg 5E

    Med Surg 5E cares for adult medical patients with a wide variety of diagnoses including:

    Small bowel obstructions

    Respiratory infections

    Pneumonia

    Cellulitis

    Diverticulitis

    This unit offers an ideal learning environment for new graduate nurses to: Develop strong assessment and critical-thinking skills Build confidence managing diverse patient populations Strengthen foundational Med Surg nursing practice Work closely with interdisciplinary care teams ?     The Registered Nurse (RN) utilizes the nursing process to deliver compassionate, high-quality patient care while maintaining professional accountability for assigned patients.


    Responsibilities include:
    Coordinating patient care with interdisciplinary teams

    Evaluating effectiveness of care delivery

    Advocating for patient safety and rights

    Maintaining confidentiality and professional standards

    Delivering care aligned with Mercy's mission and service values Qualifications

    Education

    Graduate of an accredited school of nursing:
    Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) Nursing Diploma

    Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Licensure

    Active Missouri RN license or compact license (required) Certification

    Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (may be obtained within 30 days of hire) Preferred Qualifications

    BSN preferred

    Prior healthcare or clinical experience welcomed but not required for new graduates

    Interest in medical-surgical nursing and professional growth ? Physical Requirements

    Lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs

    Prolonged standing and walking
