    We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Linux Administrator to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining our Linux server environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and security. The Senior Linux Administrator will play a critical role in system troubleshooting, performance tuning, and scripting automation processes. This position requires a deep understanding of Linux systems, networking, and security practices, as well as excellent problem-solving skills.

    Responsibilities:

    • Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers and related software in a multi-platform environment.
    • Ensure system security through the implementation of best practices and security patches.
    • Monitor system performance and capacity planning to ensure scalability and reliability.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to Linux systems, applications, and network infrastructure.
    • Automate repetitive tasks and system deployments using scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl.
    • Manage virtualization technologies and container orchestration tools such as VMware, KVM, Docker, and Kubernetes.
    • Participate in the planning and execution of disaster recovery and data backup procedures.
    • Collaborate with development teams to support DevOps practices and continuous integration/continuous deployment (Cl/CD) pipelines.
    • Document system configurations, processes, and procedures, ensuring that they are up to date.
    • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members.
    • Stay abreast of new technologies and industry best practices, recommending improvements to the infrastructure as appropriate.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
    • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in Linux system administration, preferably in a senior role.
    • Expertise in managing various Linux distributions such as CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu, and Red Hat as well as any others that may be required.
    • Strong knowledge of networking protocols and services (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SSH, VPNs).
    • Proficient in scripting and automation tools (Bash, Python, Perl).
    • Experience with configuration management and orchestration tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
    • Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their management tools.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
    • Relevant certifications(e.g., RHCE, LFCE) are a plus.
    Physical Requirements:
    • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Must be able to lift up to 15pounds at times.
