    ?Job Summary

    The Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing and directing payroll procedures, ensuring compliance with laws and tax obligations, and maintaining accurate payroll records. They require knowledge of payroll regulations (federal, state, and local) and the company software used for processing payroll. Requires excellent organizational and leadership skills.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

    • Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
    • Ensures Employee Verification processes implemented, maintained and in compliance with Department of Labor requirements.
    • Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
    • Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
    • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
    • Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
    • Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
    • Perform all required pre-and-post payroll processing audits for weekly payrolls to ensure accuracy.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS

    • Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, processing, balancing, internal controls, and payroll taxes.
    • Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and best practices across the USA.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
    • Attention to detail, problem solving and trouble shooting skills are essential.
    • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office or related software.
    • Proficient with payroll software.

    Experience:

    • Bachelors degree in accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field required.
    • Three to five years of related experience required.
    • Payroll Certifications a plus, (i.e. CPP, CPS, FPC).

    Physical Requirements:

    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

    Preferred: Bi-lingual highly preferred (English/Spanish)
