    Primary Function/General Purpose of Position

    The Pharmacy Buyer – 340B performs daily activities for compliant purchasing of pharmaceuticals for Roper St. Francis Healthcare's 340B program. This role supports the program by maintaining appropriate inventory of pharmaceutical products and related supply items. The Buyer – 340B understands and supports daily functions of the pharmacy related to medication receiving, storage, inventory management, dispensing, and disposal. The Buyer – 340B supports compliance with 340B program requirements.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Serves as a departmental expert on the processes related to medication receiving, storage, inventory management, dispensing and disposal.
    • Provides training to other colleagues or learners, as assigned.
    • Supports leadership in maintaining compliant and efficient systems for medication receiving, storage, inventory management, dispensing and disposal.
    • Analyzes data and produces reports to inform purchasing, inventory management, drug shortage management and utilization.
    • 340B Mixed-Use Optimization/Compliance: Works in compliance with 340B program requirements. Follows processes for order splitting.
    • Assists in troubleshooting program issues and supporting audits.
    • Reviews accumulators and participates in program maintenance.
    • Participates in Federal HRSA audits, external program audits and internal compliance department audits

    Licensing/Certification

    • Active South Carolina Technician Registration. Apexus 340B University Certification preferred at time of hire, otherwise must be certified within one year of hire.

    • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university; or year for year experience in required field (pharmacy).

    • At least one year of pharmacy work experience which must have included duties related to purchasing.

    Skills

    • Knowledge of pharmacy practices.
    • Knowledge of hospital, retail, and infusion pharmacy medication purchasing and distribution systems.
    • Strong knowledge of pharmacy computer systems and general computer systems including email, intranet, and computer navigation.
    • Ability to use software for communication, collaboration, and completion of office tasks.
    • Ability to learn and use other software required to perform essential functions.
