    Description

    The Christ Hospital Health Network weekend option inpatient wound care nurse is a registered nurse (RN) who has both the experience and knowledge necessary to assess and treat patients with complex wound, ostomy, and/or continence related conditions.

    They will serve as a content expert for patients, families, nursing staff and providers. This individual will effectively function both independently and collaboratively with other care team members.

    They will serve as an advocate for prevention and will be engaged in the future development of the wound and ostomy department and program.

    At the time of hire this individual will be ostomy certified and willing to obtain their wound certification within 2 years of hire.

    The practice of nursing requires specialized knowledge, judgment, and skills to provide care to groups and individuals.

    The RN utilizes knowledge derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.

    All care is provided based on the concepts inherent in the model of care for TCH which promotes an on-going partnership between patients and families and the team of healthcare providers.

    The care is culturally based and age specific.

    The RN adheres to American Nursing Association (ANA) code of ethics and to the scope of practice described in the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.
