Job description
Tatum by Randstad is working with a company in the Supply Chain/Logistics industry that is looking to bring on an accounting consultant at the Controller level to take on a long term part-time role with the organization. The opportunity is fully remote. The company is looking to make change in strategy from being a service based organization to an asset heavy model. They are looking for the accounting consultant to help them get through this transition. Below are the duties of the opportunity:
Responsibilities:
- Provide expertise on capital expenditures, such as warehouse space and transportation fleets. Use experience to structure asset purchases to take advantage of tax benefits.
- Review the companies tax and regulatory compliance. The consultant must have experience with CFR Title 26 and CFR Title 19 (related to customs duties) to ensure it aligns with the company's tax strategy and international operations
- The accounting consultant would also be responsible for reviewing the organizations benefits and retirement plans
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's in accounting or finance is required
- CPA or MBA is desired
- 5+ years of experience heading up the accounting function in the supply chain/logistics industry is required
- Prior experience with warehouse and fleet acquisition is required
